Wols - born as Alfred Otto Wolfgang Schulze in Paris in 1913 - is considered one of the most important modern artists.
The artist began an apprenticeship as a photographer in 1930. Wols occupied himself not only with painting and graphic art but also with photography. His musical and literary talents are also reflected in his art. His painted work contains figurative elements as well as free improvisations and abstract elements.

Line : it used a oil panting,graphic art and etching

  Shape : the whole art work it looks lke a random mess , but actually it shows an other      meaning of the art

Texture : sometimes it used a rough texture, but we can see the smooth sketch there.it depent for the themes that he used.

Colour : he used a strong colour that is black and blue, it shows a strong character use a blue symbolizes spirituality, and black means death. He used a bit mixture with the colour

Value : There are various tones of blue and dark with background and object are match each other, darkness of a colour




Balance : the balance are there. the is a right position

Gradation :there is have a gradation the blue colour becomes stronger from the left side to the right side.

Repetition : there is no repetition on that sketch

Contrast : the contrast are exist with the colours (in a sketch 1) there is a blue and black.

Harmony : it shows the object of the sketch are not giving of harmony.

Dominance : the sketch is giving interest object abt a shadow ( in a sketch 1) , it can attract people to see

Unity : the unity is not really clear on this sketch. it just shows a blue phantom
